Hi reading back over this wall, I realised I totally missed a comment by speedeuphoria, can you explain what adding crushed coral would do to my tank and what it would help? Thanks!!

putting a bag/stocking (unwashed) of crushed coral (must be the type that contains argonite) in your filter will raise the kH thus creating a buffer.

I've never seen it sold here in Oz with one exception.
