I'm setting up a new tank tonight, and thought I had a 50W heater. Turns out, I have a 100W heater (Eheim Jager). I bought it because it was cheeeeeap, before I even had the tank. I can't return it.

My tank is 10gal. Can I use a 100W heater? I know it kills the 3-4 WPG rule of thumb, but I really want to get this tank going, and I don't want to buy a new heater.

Thanks!

It doesn't really matter, the higher the wattage, the faster the tank will heat up, I have a 150w in my 10 gallon, and a 300w in my 100g and the temp always stays at exactly 81 degrees

I haven't had to adjust the heaters in prolly 3 months
