I have 8 platys (4m, 4f -not a good ratio, I know...working on that) one of the females is very pregnant. Is it typical for a male to "defend" a pregnant female? One of our males is constantly at her side, he leaves her alone, but he chases off any other fish (male or female) that gets near her.
