Qustion about Krill feeding?

I just bought some Krill in the flat pack (frozen).

I dropped a tiny piece in the tank, but the fish isnt eating it. (Its another story).

Anyway, how long can I let that piece of krill sit in the tank without having contamination probelms?

More details please. What type of fish? Is the krill piece too big?

My goldfish didn't eat krill right away the first time b/c I've had them on flake food for so long. Now they don't let it float around very long before one of them will grab it. If it sits in there over a day or 2 I'd just remove it.
