I have a little red clawed crab in a seperate container from my fish, and when I went to feed him I thought he was dead. >.> Turned out to be his old shell just sittin' there. His new shell appears to be hardened, what else does he need as far as special treatment goes?

Leave the old shell in there - he'll eat it to reclaim its valuable minerals. I've read that some crayfish keepers offer crushed eggshells as a mineral supplement - I haven't tried that yet. Other than that, just provide him with something to hide in until the new shell is completely hardened, and keep the water clean to prevent fungus outbreaks.

how do aquarium animals cope in the wild? some little old lady must look after them... lol
