So I have a 55 Gallon tank that i put together a year and some change ago. I only used pea-mable sized gavel for the flooring. I have a lightly planted tank but am hoping to slowly increase the plants. Should I take the risk and remove all my fish and plants to redo the flooring? It is about 1 1/2 inches deep. I also have a large plastic wood decor in the middle of the tank and wonder if I should move it more to the back.
Also any pointers on plants. I have java moss,Lace java fern, and java fern. I would like something that will go to the top around 13 inches. I do have a floral light for the plants.

I would say yes!
I just finished totally redoing my established 55g. From gravel too sand and adding a bunch of lace rock. I love it soooo much more now lol.. Can't stop staring at it.
