Yes to the above advice but with that type of heater you want to be sure nothing but the knob is above the water line. I take it your tank is too short to stand it upright?

Yep, it may be too tall, and it is hard to get it around the plants, LOL. Tonight I moved it down a bit and added water with my PWC so I should be good.
