So, I was in the lfs today checking out what fish were in and admiring the foot long (or better) catfish.

Had a look at the rosy barbs as my school has dropped from 9 to 8 recently. Was thinking of getting a couple more to replace ones lost over the years plus I only have 2 females. The fish are otherwise great, hardy and quite like them.

Then of course I went and looked at other fish and thought 'gee, they would be nice' and 'I wish I could get a school of those'.

My dilemma is that I can't trade the fish to the lfs. Once you pick a fish that is pretty much it.

So I can't decide if I should let the school dwindle down in numbers (is that cruel?) and then get a different school of fish, OR just replace lost fish and keep the school going.

Which would you do? Or any other ideas? More tanks are out regretfully.

Yeah I guess you could try posting them on gumtree.

Are there any other fish stores in your area you can trade at. I have a few within half hour drive, most don't take fish though.
