i lost my geophagus guratari and my pleco from my 20g
now all that's left is fire parrot
looking for suggestions/reccomendations as to with what to restock this tank

What sort of pleco did you have? I could be wrong, but those fish seem kinda big for a 20 gallon.

5" fireparrot - it's a parrot hybrid with a fire cyclid I think

I think parrots are crossed between a red devil and a severum or a firemouth. Some of them don't even have a tail, poor thing.

If you have a 5 inch BP/FM hybrid in your tank then you are fully stocked IMO. I keep 2 BPs (with tails, my 1st cichlids) in a 35 gallon and it is the minimum size I think would meet their needs.

I don' know that you are really fully stocked but that fish will be extremely agressive...


How did you lose the other fish?

it's a school tank and the heater got unplugged over break

how about an oto or two to clean up?

I would not put in any fish that can fit in another's mouth. For clean up and algae control get a small pleco--clown or rubber lip.

Those are 2 species that will not outgrow your tank.
