After all of the answers on my previous thread (instantly cycling a tank) I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do.
So.....is this a good plan...??
1. Get 5
gal bucket and 40
gal rubbermaid tote and fill each with tank water
2. Remove all rocks plants and decor and put in a 5
gal bucket (if they are going back in)
3. Put all of the fish in a rubermade tote filled with clean tank water ...I think catching them all will be the hard part
4. Attach the current filter and the heater to fish tote
5. Remove most of the remaining water from the tank, remove gravel, leave the worst of the really gunky mulm on the bottom,
6. Add new substrate,
7. Fill with a few inches of water,
8. Add plants and rescape with driftwood, rocks etc.
9. Fill the rest of the way
10. Reinstall filter and heater
11. Re introduce fish to their new home (acclimating if necessary)
Any flaws?
