Rope Fish
I've looked at a number of sites to get information on this fish, and many had very contradicting statements.
I would appreciate it if someone could give me more information on them and possibly answer a few of my questions. I have my rope fish living in a rather small tank with a young black ghost knife and they seem to be getting a long very well but sadly the rope "got rid of" it's other companion my violet goby. Is it not good to mix these guys together? Also, are they're any other companions they would be happier with? |

I would think the rule with rope fish, as with any other preditory fish is..
If it can fit in their mouth, They will eat it. And be careful, because they are brilliant escape artists. So I hope your tank is fully sealed.

Ditto, William, and especially about them getting out - they have a lung-like swim bladder and can survive out of the water for several hours.
They will get to be 14-15" long, so they do need a good sized tank. They are carnivores and need live food, and things like beefheart. Look for info under the name Erpetoichthys calabaricus.
