What are you're thoughts on adding salt to a tank with live plants? My small catfish has ick. I'm raising the water temp--it's around 82 now and I thought about adding a little salt to the tank. But I thought I read somewhere that you shouldn't add salt to a tank with live plants. Help? (Also, any suggestions of getting rid of ick on a catfish would be great as well. My other fish look fine.)

Welcome to AA!

No, Live plants do not like salt one bit, neither do Catfish. My best suggestion it to keep the temp raised to 86F for around 2 weeks (Heat speeds up the cycle of ich. 1 week is to get rid of most to all of it and the second week is for extra precautions and to Do a partial water change once a day (This will pick up the unwanted spore that have fallen off the fish).
