By kind of water, I mean fresh, brackish or salt. There can be aquarium salt in the tank and it is still considered freshwater. For it to be considered brackish, usually marine salt is used. The reason a LFS's statement that their mollies are brackish could not be true, is because they could have used aquarium salt and not marine salt. If they are sold in water with aquarium salt, they are still FW and can be acclimated to a FW tank. Vice versa for the true brackish water.
