sand

I have just a few questions for you....

i have a 55 gallon bw tank with three mollies, and two columbian sharks. i have all artificial plants.

first question is where is a good place to get sand cheaply... my lfs has it but its like 45 dollars for 20 pounds....

second question is, what type of sand do i need?

And third question is how much sand will will i need to only go up about an inch off the bottom, this is all the more i want....

Go to your local pool store and ask for Pool Filter Sand. Looks great and so easy to maintain. And it's usually 6.00-10.00 for a 50lb bag.

Agreed. Check out your local pool supply store and purchase pool filter sand. A 50 lb bag should be enough for you.

I third the pool filter sand reccomendations. It's cheap, and looks nice too!

I'll fourth it. I have never been so happy with a substrate. I actually changed all my tanks to sand.
