Okay so today I went and bought PFS from home depot, while cleaning it looks sorta rough and big compared to the black sand I have now which is soft and fine and feels different in water.
So this is my question: Will bristle nose plecos or corys be hurt by it? Can I add the PFS to my new tank or just keep the black sand I have now?

I think the cories would prefer sand but they should do fine in PFS as well. I've heard of a lot of folks keeping cories in PFS. I kept some kuhlii loaches (bottom dwellers) in my 20H for a while in PFS. They were fine, no damage to their bodies or fins. Just watch the cories barbels because if they get damaged they can have a hard time finding food.

I have corys with pool filter sand and they love it, if you look closely you can see them suck it up and shoot it out of their gills, kinda like little vacum cleaners, really fun :D

i got mine form the HomeDepo also
