scared albino corys

When i turn on the lights for my tank my albino corys start freaking out. I need the lights because i have live plants but i don't want to scare them. What should i do?

They get startled just like we do when instantly going from pitch dark to bright light. Try turning on the room light for about 10 minutes before you do the main tank lights. OS.

What I do is gradually turn on the lights around the fish tank, then I turn on the fish tank light, so they slowly get used to the light.
