What is a good brand to use that is safe for aquariums?

GE I last time I used it. Any brand is fine as long as it is GE I (unless they changed it to GE II). Just make sure it says 100% pure clear silicone and doesnt mention any mildew or mold inhibitors

Don't use anything that says for kitchens and bathrooms. If you use GE I, make sure it says windows and doors.

Nope, still GE I, GE II has a moldicide.

But yea 100% pure silicone. GE I says doors, windows, trim, siding and flashing. Stay clear of Kitichen & Bath

i called "dap" who is a competitor or GE and the rep told me that they don't have to list that they use anti-fungal ingredients in their 100% pure silicone, and they always do.
i would go with perfecto brand silicone. it's made for tanks.

i have used GE 1 with out problems. personally i dont always trust competitors too. did you ask them about their own brand? the key point is to make sure its fully cured before putting water in it.

I will repeat the advice to use GE 1 for tank seals. I resealed my 72 Gal with no problems.
