Howdy All,

Now that I have my new tank fully cycled and partially populated I want o get my 10 gallon quarantine tank set up.

I currently have an Eheim 2213 running on the main tank to get the bio media inside to seed with the proper bacteria. How long do I need to leave this filer on the main tank?

FYI - I plan to transfer water from the main tank to the 10 gallon when I fill it up.

Thanks,
CMOS

4 weeks minimum to get a good enough amount of bacteria on the eheim.

also adding water from the established tank to the 10 gallon will have no effect, bacteria live on surfaces not in the water column (least not any measurable amount to make a difference)

^^agreed^^ also, if you put a few scoops of gravel, or driftwood, or rocks, something from the established tank in the new tank.
