Serpae Tetra question

Are the red minor serpae tetras and the black phantom tetra of the same species? Dumb question maybe? But i was just wondering if they would school together. Like have 4 red and 4 blacks in a tank together. Thought that would be interesting.

They are not the same species so I doubt they will school together. They are of the same genera though.

*Genus. The term 'genera' is the plural form of genus. Two groups of four aren't necessarily ideal, but they should hang out together. They aren't going to die of stress or anything if kept in groups less than six.
