I'm thinking of buying a 4' 4 bulb t8 32 watt shop light for my 45 gallon aquarium. I'm going to hang it over top of the aquarium from the roof and use a glass top. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thx

I don't but I do not think it will support plants unless they are floating. This is mostly because the tank is 23.75 inches high and you only have 32 watts. For a planted tank a lot of people aim for 2-5 watts per gallon depending on the tank.
You have 0.71 watts per gallon so you could do a fish only.

We it has 4 32 watt bulbs = 128 watts

I'm getting one roseatte lamp, 2 daylight lamps, and a grow max lamp. I'll get back to you on the actual temperature though

You will probably be good to go but the spectrum is important. :)

I will be may be unable to respond to any threads until Sunday as I am going to LA but if I have time, I will try to get back to you before then. If not, PM on Sunday. :)

I have a dual t8 fixture on my 20 gallon long tank and I would say it gives me medium light.
