Shy Cherry Barbs

I recently added five cherry barbs to the five I already had in my 36 gallon tank. The original five I had were fairly active in the tank, especially when feeding. After adding the new fish they all seem to be hiding. Tank parameters haven't changed, nitrogen and nitrite are both at zero and nitrates are kept reasonable. Temp is kept at 76. My panda corys have stayed active and all look good.

Has anyone noticed this kind of behavior before? Any ideas how to fix it?

I've noticed new fish can be shy and/or miss out on feeding entirely. After a week they seem to settle.
