Hello all, I have an established 75 gallon tank with a Fluval FX6 filter and 3 goldfish. The parameters are 0 for ammonia and nitrite and under 10ppm for nitrAte.
My goldfish tank is cycled. So there’s no ammonia nor nitrite poisoning.
My goldfish are either floating at the top or laying on the bottom. I’m really confused. All I can think of is there some type of infection? Yesterday and the day Baker I dosed the whole tank with Metroplex and today I fed my goldfish medicated food. They are still eating, they swim around a little bit during the day but go back to laying down right after 5 minutes. One of my goldfish had red stains all over him... Any knowledge would help, I want to know what this is affecting my fish.
I’ve also dosed the whole aquarium with aquarium salt.

How quick did this happen? Also had you done a large water change recently?

Red stains suggest either water chemistry (eg water change but water company working on pipes or something or some chemical got into tank) or bacterial / viral septicaemia.

This? The following is a recommended treatment from that website [emoji846]

Move the goldfish into the sickbay and add five teaspoons of non-iodized salt per gallon.

As this is an external bacterial infection, I also add any of the normal bacterial medications such as 5% Methylene blue or Malachite green.

Keep the fish in the sickbay until all traces of the disease are gone then slowly reduce the medication at each water change. Feed only live food.

The aquarium or pond will require a complete clean out before the fish is put back.

All three of my fish are showing symptoms of lethargy but only one of them has the red spots. I have begun to treat with metroplex and aquarium but I’m not seeing any progres )/

Will me making partial water changes daily and adding aquarium salt kill of the infection?

Treat for external and internal bacterial infection would be my suggestion.

Do you have any pics?
