Hi all. I just p/u a 5.5 gl with a small leak at the bottom looks like a mouse lived in it. What's the best silicone to use to seal it? Can I use any clear kitchen and bath or does it have to be the aquarium stuff? Thanks David

Silicone that is clearly marked "safe for aquariums" is best. It can be the pricey product at the pet stores or pure silicone at the hardware store. Nothing with additives such as mold or bacterial inhibitors. When in doubt, get the name of the product (and manufacturer if possible) and post it here for feedback.

I have always used silicone from the hardware store as long as it is 100% silicone with no additives.
