Hi I have a 10 gal tank that houses Bristal Nose Pleco and Guppy fry. The tank has a bare bottom and some floating plants. The filter gets this slime on it and it clogs the filter. I change the water 2 gal every other day. The tank has about 35 -40 fish 1 inch to babies. Being babies I have food in there all the time. I also have slices of cucumber or zucchini in the tank at all times. I think having food available at all times is the problem. I feed them bottom food and flake for guppies. I can clean the bottom of stuff and within an hour the stuff starts to collect. By the next morning it is covering a quarter of the tank. What am I doing wrong? Thanks:(:(

Pretty sure this is just the simple issue of wayyyyyy too many fish for a little 10g..

Seems heavily stocked, that is probably the problem. Upgrade those fish to a 30-40 gallon or get rid of them, assuming they are guppies
