Hi guys.

What's the best fish or critter to eat A LOT of snails in a 6g tank. We have mollies and an octoclincus.

I need to be able to get it from say a pets at home.

Thanks

Welcome to AA!!
You could get an assassain snail, or just clean them out yourself with a lettuce trap at night.
I will say that mollies and otos aren't appropriate residents for a 6g tank, just as a heads up. :)

Manual removal is the best thing, getting fish or inverts to deal with it really isn't the best solution IMO, especially in a small tank. If you do decide to get a fish or invert to deal with it, consider your current stocking plan before picking something, since you may be limited on your options.

If you move the mollies to a larger tank (as recommended by the other poster), your 6g can be opened up to being a species only tank. You can therefore add a couple of Indian dwarf puffers. They will devour the snails. Otherwise, try the lettuce method. Leave a piece in the tank over night. In the morning remove it along with all the snails on it. Repeat the process to reduce the rest.
