So I have never had snails in my tank before, and really have no idea how they got in my tank. I have had this tank setup for around a year or so nothing new added except 4 red tail borali from a smaller growing tank. Anyways I don't wanna get rid of the snails but would like to know maybe what kind they are they hide really well during the day and only find them out many hours after dark. Here is a pic of shell if that helps my camera is terrible at night pictures.

That is an MTS..or Malaysian Trumpet Snail. They are pretty nocturnal. They like to stay buried during the day. They are considered a pest snail by many since they multiply quickly and you don't need a male and female..they just reproduce. I personally like having them in my substrate. =)

Edit - I got ninja'd on that post, but yeah. MTS.
