Snails and Loaches

My 2 zebra loaches eat all the snails in my tank before they get big. If I buy some larger snails will they be safe, or will the Loaches pick them to death?

If yes, how big should I buy them? My zebra loaches are about 2". Would pea size be ok? dime size?

from my experience, i've lost apple snails with a diameter of at least 1.5"--but i'm pretty sure it's due to my 4-5" clown loahces. i would try to get them as big as possible though. and make sure they're pomacea brigidesii species, or they could eat your plants.
