Snails with Goldfish?

Hello, i have 6 goldfish all about 2-3 inches in length, and i want to get some Snails for the tank, so i was wondering if anyone could tell me if the goldfish would leave the snails alone or if they would start attacking them?

My goldies eat my snails. They are big goldies though so maybe yours wouldn't.

oh hi zagz, well just as i said my goldfish arent really that big, and i intend on bying those yellow type snails that are about 1 inch in diameter. i know goldfish have a habbit of trying to eat everything so do u think they would even try to bully something about that big?

If you are referring to the P. bridgessi (Apple snail), you will not have a problem. I believe those are the only snail that can safely be added to a goldie tank. For comparison, check the "fish and plants" clicky in my sig.

My mother had a golden apple snail in with her three fancy goldfish, they are not very big, but they ate it. It may be that the snail died first, but it did have a good month long run in her tank.

There are at least 6 varieties that I know of. My mom in law has one in her goldie tank for about a year.

i bought 2 snails. and they are called Gold Mystery snails, i thought they were pretty cool and also they are pretty big.a little dissapointed because they were $3 CAD each but considering that they are big i decided to buy them. so far the goldfish have only taped their shels a bit but very seldom and i dont think theyve tryed to actually eat them.

JC would apple snails manage with goldies that are over 6"? I'd love to have a couple of snails in their tank to keep up with algae, but of course they have munched every snail I have thrown in there. It would be great if the apple snails would survive in their tank.
