5 gal, planted,one male betta.
Something like green film algae is all over my tank - walls, decor, plants and sand. Recently I used API ALGAEFIX to remove hair algae. green film algae developed right after. I call it green film algae but I am not really sure what it is. How to get rid of it?
Please help!

Cyanobacteria / Blue-green algae. It can be brought on by a number of conditions, including excess light, insufficient nitrates, poor tank hygiene, and low flow. Once you've found a correction for the problem, it can be treated by a blackout, direct dosing peroxide, or antibiotics.

Flow of the water is really low. Could that cause the outbreak. I am consistent with PWC, 50% once a week.

I moved fish to new tank so I can do whatever it takes to get rid of these algae. I am thinking of breaking the tank completely, getting rid of everything from inside.
