Something's growing in my tank

I came into work this morning to find something interesting inside my tank. The picture below is the best I could get because the tank is at the corner of a wall. Is this what I think it is? I currently have Neons, Mollies, Zebra Danios, and a Betta.

What type of food do you use? its a possobility that some of hte food didnt get eaten and got mushy in the water. I've had it happen with shrimp pellets that looked kind of like that but get brown...
 
I'd say it's a nest from the betta. if there's to much surface movement the betta will attachs the bubbles to the underside of a leaf or vine what ever it can. I've had my male make something almost just like that on my money wort stem twice.
I se the betta's staying close to it also.
 
I still think it looks like some weird alien cyst or breeding pod or something...

I'd sleep with a spray bottle of mace nearby if i were you! :lol:

EDIT: Beautiful plants, by the way! Are they real, and if so, what are they?
