Cycling a tank for my daughter and we just started getting trItes real good.

Got an near-zero ammo reading with good -trites so we need to redose ammo.

Decide to do so before leaving the house for an event so we are kind rushing a bit.

Pour the liquid into the dosing cup and into the tank it goes.

Come home too a tank with bubbles on the surface. WTH?!?!?!

Dosed odo-ban cleanser, not ammonia. Gotta clean and start over tomorrow.

Sonuva!!!!!!!!:banghead:

Bubbles could be caused by adding too much decholrinator, I know i have added too much of mine and I currently have bubbles.

Maybe that's what's happened here?

Nope, i did the cleanser stuff. The cleaner is "up" on a shelf and the ammonia is "under" the laundry tub. I retraced my steps and know for certain (especially when my daughter told me I did reach up, not down) that i pulled from the shelf. next time, I'll try turning on a light, mayhaps

Oh BOY!!!!!! Make sure you clean everything really good & rinse really well!!! This includes the filter housing (take it apart), bubblers, substrate etc. I would toss the filters-the cleanser will have killed off the bacteria anyway. I am sorry this happened & you have to start over!! :(
