Well, that is probably the worst advice ever from a fish expert friend, no offense. Plants will not mess up your water. They are a massive component of aquatic ecosystems globally.

Decaying plants, however, may do so, as I indicated in my post.

My bad, I should have explained better. He actually was talking about if they die it could start messing up your water. I should have been a bit clearer *sheepish grin* hopefully thats your issue. After finding that out thats when I decided not to risk it and decided to stick with fake plants.
