Ammonia .25 (never had in my tank - figured it was in my tap water and just new water. - used small dosage of ammonia remover

Btw, .25 of Ammonia is nothing to worry about. as long as it doesn't go higher.

I thought ammonia at any level was dangerous.

No, for a lot of people it is normal to get that reading. As long as it isn't higher I wouldn't worry.
