So far I have 1 dwarf gourami, 3 platys, 2 silver dollars, 2 columbian 'sharks', 3 kuhli loaches, and 3 snails. I would like to add a large school of some type of fish, but I don't know which kind.. We have a 55 gallon tank now but will be getting a bigger tank (125 gal) sometime within the next year when we move into our new house. Thanks!

Maybe Rummy Nose Tetras, Neon or Cardinal Tetras, Denison Barbs, Zebra Danios, Cories, or Glow fish if you like the look of them?

I think the columbians are going to give you some issues in the future.

I don't know a lot about them but I believe they are one of those brackish fish that are ok in fresh water as juveniles but as they grow will need to be slowly worked over to a saltwater set up. They will also eat any of your smaller fish when it becomes big enough so I don't think it's going to be a long term set up for you to have these 2 unless you make that 125 gal a saltwater. I hear they can grow to be 10 inches but have also read if given proper care can reach 20 inches. Either way that's a big fish. I'm not certain but I also think it's recommended they are generally kept in a bit of brackish water even when young.

Off the hop I'd add 1 or 2 silver dollars at least and a couple more kuhlis. Silver dollars are schooling fish and I'm sure they would be much happier with a few more buddies. Same for the Kuliis.

How about rainbow fish? They are schooling fish but larger than most of the common found schoolers. There are several types and come in many different looks.

Before adding anything though I would certainly suggest you research a bit more on the sharks and see if you are able to meet their future needs and if not I'd try and rehome them now. This will open up some more doors for what you can keep as well.
