I have a blackwater 29g aquarium, currently i have:

5 black skirt tetras
1 blue gourami
6 kuhli loaches

What are some suggestions for stocking the rest? I have blue velvet shrimp in mind or maybe bamboo shrimp, i dont really know though.

Blue gouramis (which are a color morph of Trichogaster trichopterus) can get up to 6" in length and are considered semi-aggressive. I'd be wary of putting another in the tank; a female will need places to hide from the male occasionally, and I don't think a 29 is big enough for that job. I'd stick with just the one.

I had two before and that escalated quickly. I wouldn't advise two gouramis.

You could get some corydoras or rasboras or just add on to your tetra school. The more the better.
