I have a 30 gal with 15 neon tetras and a pair of GBR with a few ghost shrimp that are disappearing every day lol I was wondering if I could add some cory cats and if so how many? I do weekly water changes and my tank is heavily planted.v

That's what I was thinking thanks for the reassurance

Think about feeding also. Neons will scour the tank for left overs once they learn it's there and GBRs are prefer the lower levels of the tank. Might make feeding the Cory's difficult which means more food going in which can affect the water quality. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just making you aware of it.

I can explain your ghost shrimp dissapearance though... If the temp is around 80degrees, then its because the water is too warm and they die, you don't see the bodies because the GBRs eat the dead bodies. That's my hypothesis because my loaches eat the dead bodies of them
