Stocking suggestions for vintage aquarium?

Any suggestions on stocking for this vintage 20 long? I wanted to stick with the vintage look so I'm going with this diy filter made out of a peanut butter jar until I can source a nos filter and backround like these.

Neon tetras have been in the hobby for a long time. You could do a school of them. Or if you wanted to go unheated you could do white cloud minnows.
It would make a great tank for a betta, you could do a school of corydoras with it.

Maybe it's just the angle, but it looks bigger than a 20 long.

I assumed it was a 20 long because of the footprint. I'll grab measurements in a few minutes, I would love to know if it is or isn't.

Yeah, it could be a 29. Hard to tell.
