Strange Crayfish Behaviour? - Aquarium Advice

I have never seen this before, so I'm not sure if this is out of the ordinary. My blue crayfish looked normal last night, climbing around on the plants. This morning I looked in the top of the tank and he was floating on his side. He wasn't on top of any of the plants. He was just floating. I blew a little air on him and he darted back to the floor.

Is it normal for crayfish to hang out on the top of the water like this?

That's not good. Did he molt recently? If he did, then the problem amy be that some air got inside while molting. Otherwise, I am not sure, but iut may be he is dying or diseased. But, I may be wrong...

Mine used to do wierd things like that just before a molt.

Mine always did that also. He did some pretty funky things that were not normal... He was cool but after the 5th escape (which I don't know how he managed the tank was sealed tight) he had to go to a new home...
