Made a strange discovery in my canister filter while cleaning it today. After removing the baskets, and dumping the water out of the canister I found a cory fry in the sink strainer:eek: The cories breed in the tank once in a while, but the other fish usually eat the eggs. One egg must have gotten sucked in to the filter, and hatched. I named the fry Lucky:lol:
Seems there is always something new to discover in this hobby!!

I found a Cory fry once while cleaning out an HOB. Made me stop and check out what's in the filter before I just dump it out.

Nice! Life will find a way I guess. I bought 3 gold barbs and they laid eggs the day I got them home. Only found 1 fry and it survived a few days on it's own. Don't know if it was eaten or got sucked into the filter.

Nice find. I have a cover over my filter intake so the fry don't get sucked up.

My convict cichlid laid eggs and now I have around 70 free swimming fry
