Suggestions for fish

Hi, I'm currently looking into buying cichlids that are beautiful, but not high maintenance or too expensive. Right now I have a blood red cichlid that's about 4 inches long, so if there's any fish that aren't too aggressive that you know of, please let me know!

On the other hand apistos are too small to be with a red blood parrot <---- get like 7-8 inches I believe.

I currently have a 35 gallon tank, and the only other tank mate is a snail. I'm getting a bigger tank very soon though, probably about 55 gallons.
