I have a 40G Breeder, estliblished 4 months now, no plants

PH tends to be around 8.0 -8.2

I have 2 Dwaf Garmies

4 tetras

2 yellow platties

I love colorfull fish, but fish that aren't high maintenance

Also like unique fish

Don't mind spending money if their something unique

I want them To all get Along also

I'm ready to add more fish, but not sure what to add

Thanks !

Great idea ! Are Loaches ok to add in with the PH high , and do they require and special feeding?

I'm not sure about the ph range of loaches cause I've never had to worry about it but loaches are some seriously interesting fish and come in a wide range of colors/patterns. Any of the smaller body loaches would do fine in your tank and they'll eat just about anything but maybe try some sinking pellets or wafers, someone once said a well fed loach is a happy loach and a still hungry loach haha. I have angelicus, striata and clowns in my tank

Edit: oh and up your school of tetras, schooling fish are much more interesting in larger groups. What tetra are they?
Edit2: loaches online says any ph below 7 but really anything from 6.5 to 7.5 should do fine I think, maybe add some DW or live plants

Loaches can adapt to pH in the 8 range. Stay away from clown loaches until you have a much bigger tank.

Agreed, no clowns unless you plan to have a pretty big tank soon. Smaller body loaches like I said though would be great. Striata angelicus yoyo, that sort of thing

If you want something unique look into upside down cats. They aren't very colorful but can't say they aren't unique. They do best in a small group of say 3. Ghost cats are also very unique.

Here's a pic of the tank

You can see the Tetra's, ( red ) if not I'll take close up's

You could go with a type of botia for the bottom also. Cherry barbs or glass barbs are pretty cool

Ha, I have mollies, just shows how much I know, lol

Haha no big deal, fish names are easy to forget, especially when the fish your confusing it with is so similar. Platy - Molly - Swordtail, all basically the same fish, and all completely different at the same time haha
