It should settle soon, I cleaned my sand for about 3hrs so when I filled the tank up it was cloudy for about a minute lol

I only washed mine for about 1 hour prolly should have done it longer but I get impatient quickly

Just changed my lights to cfls. 2700k per bulb, 8000 linens each. Is that good

2700K will not do much, if anything to benefit the lights. For planted tanks, you will need a 6500K/6700K bulbs. Depending on the type of plants, I would go for two 13 watt bulbs give or take.

Here is what it looks like now. Prolly need to change some water soon though. Its now cloudy really, its just not clear

They are rated 13 Watt cfls, or 75 Watt standard bulbs

The measurment that concerns you the most is Kelvin (k). You'll find numbers like 5000K, 5100k, 5500K, 6700K, 8000K or 10,000K. I've found the best range is between 6700K and 10,000K.

Ah okay. So what I have wont due for my 2 sword plants

No, you're looking for bulbs that say things like "full spectrum" or "Natural daylight" Once you find those, take time to check the kelvin, if it's not over 5000K, or it's over 10,000K put it back and keep looking.

Okay so I have 2 25 Watt bulbs that I got from Walmart that said they were for plants. They are tube bulbs. Will those work for now until I get new ones

These are the exact same bulbs that I use, except for the Kelvin rating. 6500/6700K are what most people, including myself, use for our planted tanks. Just look on the package for a K rating of 6500 or 6700.

I would definately suggest better lighting for a sword plant. I had the same wattage of lights in my 10g with amazon swords and they grew fairly well.

I dono the Kelvin on mine but will those work even though they aren't too bright
