Switching to sand, one big question

Would like to get some dark deep brown colored substrate. It will be replacing gravel in a stocked and planted aquarium. I've done a few searches but wanted to see what product has worked best for others.

I have Black Diamond blasting sand in my 10g, it isn't dark brown, it is black but it works great.

Any type of sand will work, just find something you like and rinse the living crap out of it, or until the water runs clear. Places like Home Depot and landscaping places are good because usually it is way cheaper then the specialty aquarium sand.
