I have 2 female swordtails and one male in my 55g community tank. Both of the females look pregnant but today I saw a lone fry swimming around in the tank. I've done some research and I've found that the fry usually come in greater numbers. Do these fish not birth them all at once or should I expect more? I have a pair of Bolivian rams so I doubt they last long but I am just looking to see what I should expect. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1408417356.717296.jpg

If you did not separate the females before birth, I would say the fry were eaten.

They birth with a few hours usually

That's cool with me. I'm just surprised that I have only seen one. I know they can birth up to 80 at a time so I figured it would take at least a day for the fish to eat all those fry...
