Tank Background

Simple question, Should I use a plastic tape on background for the back of the tank with plants and nature stuff on it or should I use one with a solid color, (and what color)?

I prefer solid colors in black or blue, and I prefer to paint them as opposed to the store bought backgrounds.

My walls are white, so it gives the tank a nice and clean look. As for the cords, having plants in the background kind of hides/break them up.
