tank for goldfish

I was wondering how many goldfish I can put in a 32g tank?

So far I have one 2" Black Moor

Are there any kinds of of gold fish that tend to stay smaller?

Does anyone know any good sites that talks about goldfish and also describes different types of it?

You could have two goldfish in a 32 gallon, tops. They get big and produce a lot of waste. Keep in mind that while some variants are advertised as "dwarf" species that won't get as big as most other variants, these are overbred sports that will likely have a lot of genetic problems and be more grief than they are worth.

whatver happened to comets? you never see the little 50 cent goldfish anymore

please dont get goldfish, i got some feeder fish, and i mean tiny .25 cent feeders for my birthday in 1st grade, to make a long story short, 11 years later, they were still alive, and not even a penguin 330 and penguin 170 working together could stop the mass amonia, nitrates, and dirty water, i mean i threw in a snail in the tank, and the snail couldnt even take the excessive amonia and nitrates and died, and we all know how imposible it is to kill a snail

out of four feederfish, one died within 2 months, one died around 9 years old, one died at 10, and the last only died do to neglect because of my idiot sister.

and they get big too...

Goldies are such wonderful fish. Very personable and fun to watch. They can live 10 years or more. Your black moor has those telescope eyes which makes them a little bit blind so it's hard for them to compete for food if housed with regular-eyed fish. Be sure that your moor gets enough food. I have two orandas in a 30 gallon tank. 8)

hc8719, you must have had other water isues if this was how you experinced goldfish. Or mabe just too small of a tank. Yes comets can get to 2' long (although 12" is more average) and produce lot of waste but that is no reason to experience such water problems.

maybe it was only a 29 gal (i know it's small for the goldies, and i regret not having a 55gal then) one of them was a comet too by the way.

but admit it, that goldie tanks are much harder to maintain than a tropical, and them being 10" didnt help
