This is my 10 g. Due to some guppy ailment, I lost all 10 of my guppies. My tank is fully cycled, parameters are great, planted, gets in-direct sunlight, plants do well, has ramshorn snail and one mystery. Since it just has snails in there right now, I want to go to dirt substrate but have no idea where to start or what to get. I do not have a LFS, so everything has to be done on line. Please tell me where and what to consider and do. Thank you ahead of time.

All you need for dirt is to get some Organic Potting Soil. Many use Miracle Grow Organic Potting Soil but I used Just Natural Organic Potting Soil from Lowes. Then decide what you want to use for your cap.

I have Eco-Complete as a cap over my dirt tanks. You can use anything but if possible I'd use a smaller grained substrate than what you have in the picture.
