Does purigen remove tannins from driftwood? If not what will? I put a huge piece of driftwood in my tank after I soaked it in hot water for a week and the water has a brownish tint. I would really like it to clear up.

Thanks!

Either Carbon or Purgen will remove tannins from the water. Carbon will only last for a couple weeks before you need to put in new. Purgen costs more but will work much longer at removing tannins and you can regenerate it and use it over and over.

I have 250 ml of purigen in the Fluval fx5 filter. It doesn't seem to be working should I use more? The tank is 125 gal.

Thanks

Can't remember what the ml to gallon is for use but with tannins I'd add another one.
