anyone here ever keep these teacup rays saw some at the LFS and they inrigue me, i have only done saltwater right know i have a reef tank, but am playing around with the idea of setting up a tank for these guys thanx in advance. JC

Hi....

We stock them here whenever they are in season....(like now...Jan thru Mar usually).

The ones we get in are Freshwater!! However, keeping them in a slightly saline
tank would be OK too. Feed mostly Ghost Shrimp, very small live fish (fry), or
small pieces of shrimp, crab meat, etc.

Needs sandy bottom and room to "play".

Yeah, I'll emphasize the "room to play" aspect. These are the smallest (as far as I've been able to tell) FW stingrays on the market, but they still grow to about 12 inches and really should be given at least 100 gallons to romp in. I'd only stock them in a 300 Gallon tank myself, but I have high standards for large fish!!

There's no FW tank I like less than a crowded stingray tank in which the rays can barely move... But I'm just ranting here! Good luck with the rays if you get them. They are beautiful!
