Tempature gage broke

I attached a picture the temperature gage broke some of the inside beads leaked inside the tank, is there mercury in this? Can this kill my fish?? Please advise if I need to move my fishes into my other tank. Thanks for your help.

Well, it's not mercury in that kind of thermometer. I think those little balls are some kind of metal though, they are used to weigh the thing so it floats upright.

Let's see if there is any info online on this...
 
Hey! Geuss what. I've got a thermometer exactly like that one so I could test. The little metal balls are attracted to a magnet. Run a magnet around the tank to get them out.

I did exactly that when mine broke, I used my mag float to pick them up works great!
